Hospital Negligence
Mrs F of Stratford-upon-Avon instructed Wright Hassall following an accident that occurred whilst she was a patient in a hospital having undergone a partial hip replacement operation. During her recuperation period she leaned on her bed and because the brakes had not been applied by the hospital staff it moved away from her causing her to fall on to the floor. As a result of this she suffered a fracture and required an extensive and complicated operation. As a consequence Mrs F suffered pain and her mobility was reduced. She required nursing care during her recovery and decided to move to sheltered accommodation earlier than she had intended. Wright Hassall recovered £20,000 to compensate Mrs F for the pain and losses as a result of the injury sustained.
